Salmon Earthmoving commenced in the mid 1940’s in the timber industry.
In the early years, Peter Salmon predominately was involved in the timber and logging industry, the early tractors had no blades, only winches. Some of the tractors included an original CAT “Holt 30” – Oliver Cletrac – McCormick Deering – International and Allis Chalmers.
Peter’s eldest son Gary soon took a keen interest helping his father and in the early 1970’s started Salmon Earthmoving Services.
During the 1970’s under Gary Salmon, the company expanded to become a major service provider to the Mining and Construction Industries along the east coast of Australia; and a recognized , respected identity in the field of equipment rental.
The early 1990’s saw Gary’s eldest son Nick commence his apprenticeship with the Caterpillar dealer Hastings Deering as a diesel fitter and soon after that, Nick was involved with the family owned and operated business.
During expansion into the Mining and construction areas of New Caledonia , another of Gary’s sons, Chris Salmon became involved in our Management team.
The company has undertaken many projects over many decades. As a result, Salmon has developed a solid reputation for reliability and wealth of expertise to serve the earthmoving industry.
